Subscription Box Fulfillment Services
Subscription box fulfillment is the process of storing your inventory, assembling each box to a set spec, and shipping it out on a recurring schedule, usually monthly, without you touching a single item. RitePrep handles the kitting, the packing, and the shipping so your subscription stays on schedule even as your list grows.
If you are still packing boxes at your kitchen table or a rented storage unit, this page walks through exactly how handing that off works, what it costs to think about, and what changes for your subscribers (nothing if it is done right).

When Packing Boxes Yourself Stops Being Sustainable
Every subscription box brand hits the same wall. Orders climb past a few hundred a month, and packing day turns into packing week. You are assembling boxes, printing labels, and running to the post office instead of sourcing new products or growing the list.
The unboxing experience is the product for a lot of subscription brands. A late box, a wrong insert, or a damaged mailer does more damage to retention than a slow week of marketing. That is the real risk of outsourcing done badly: losing the consistency your subscribers signed up for.
How RitePrep's Subscription Box Fulfillment Works
RitePrep runs subscription box fulfillment as a repeatable process, not a one-off pack job. Each cycle follows the same three stages so your ship date holds steady month over month. See how kitting works if you want the process broken down in more detail before your first cycle.
Step 1: Send Your Inventory and Box Components
You ship your products, inserts, custom shipping boxes, and any branded packaging to our Austin, Texas facility ahead of your pack date. We receive, count, and stage everything against your kitting spec before assembly starts.
Step 2: We Kit and Pack Each Box to Your Spec
Our team assembles each box exactly to your bill of materials: the right product mix, the right custom product boxes or mailer box, and the right inserts, in the right order. Kitting specs are documented once and reused every cycle, so box 1 and box 5,000 look the same.
Step 3: We Dispatch on Your Ship Date
Once kitting is complete, boxes move straight to pick and pack and out the door on the ship date you set.
Why DTC and Shopify Brands Use RitePrep for Subscription Fulfillment
Subscription boxes are not the same as one-off ecommerce orders. A single mispacked box goes out on repeat if the error is not caught in the kitting stage, which is why the process matters more than the storage space.
RitePrep works directly with Shopify subscription brands, which means your recurring orders can flow from your store into our system without manual re-entry for every cycle.
We also ship through established carrier relationships, including FedEx and UPS, so a spike in box volume during a launch month does not mean a shipping delay. This same infrastructure supports RitePrep's broader DTC fulfillment and CPG fulfillment clients outside of subscription boxes.
What that means for your boxes
- Kitting specs documented and reused every cycle, reducing pack errors on repeat shipments
- Direct Shopify order flow so subscription cycles do not require manual data entry
- Established carrier relationships with FedEx and UPS for consistent transit times

Custom Packaging, Mailer Boxes, and Box Sourcing
A lot of subscription brands come to RitePrep already working with a packaging supplier, and we kit around whatever custom boxes or custom shipping boxes you already have. If you are still sourcing, we can work from your existing custom packaging vendor or point you toward specs that fit our kitting stations and standard carrier dimensions.
The goal is the same either way: your custom subscription boxes arrive assembled correctly and ship on schedule, whether you are using a stock mailer box or a fully custom product box built for your brand.
Frequently Asked Questions
Subscription box fulfillment is the storage, kitting, and shipping of recurring subscriber orders on a set schedule. A fulfillment partner receives your products and packaging, assembles each box to spec, and ships it out so you do not have to pack orders yourself every cycle.
